Veterinarian

Dr. Erica Johnson

Dr. Erica Johnson grew up in Orangeburg, South Carolina. She received her DVM from Tuskegee University and her MBA from the University of Houston. Dr. Johnson has always dreamed of being a veterinarian. “Since I declared wanting to be a vet at age 5, I’ve never wavered in pursuing my dream of helping animals.” Dr. J’s favorite part about working in animal health, “The variety! I can see a 200lb dog, 5-pound puppy, overweight rabbit, and geriatric kitty, all in the first hour of my day. Never a dull moment!”

About me

Dr. Johnson loves surgery, she has developed advanced skills in soft tissue surgery and pain management. She is a lifelong learner and is constantly keeping up with advances in veterinary medicine. Dr. Johnson believes in practicing with compassion and empathy and tries to make sure every client leaves her knowing she did the best for them.

Background & Experience

When not working on your fur-babies, Dr. Johnson is busy spending time with her family, competing in her amateur 9 ball league and cooking. Her life motto is “Never give anyone the power to steal your joy.”

Veterinarian

Dr. Susan “Claire” Pope

Dr. Susan “Claire” Pope is from Sugar Land, Texas. Dr. Pope has worked in Veterinary Medicine since 2014, but “I have always held a passion for animals and the environment since I was a kid.

About me

When I was old enough, I got a job at my local veterinary clinic to help with kennel duty and climbed up from there.” Dr. Pope received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, where she was praised for having above-average surgical skills.

Dr. Pope’s favorite part about working in this field is “Being able to nurture the human-animal bond through education and medicine.” Claire is learning to apply her education to everyday practice. One of her core values is personal growth, so she is always taking the time to self-reflect and improve her professional and personal life.

Background & Experience

Three things that Dr. Pope thinks everyone should know about her: “I love to travel to new places, I have a deep respect and appreciation of different cultures and love to learn, and I am a big fan of BTS.” The best advice she has ever received is, “Give your energy to things you can control and let go of the things you can’t.”
